Graphify and Graphicle.

Graphify, by Safi Shamsi and the Graphify contributors, is an open-source Python tool that turns code, documents, papers and media into a knowledge graph for AI coding assistants. Graphify Cloud, from Graphify Labs, is its hosted service.

Measured

What we measured.

  • 3.0–22.7×less time to build the graph, in all 39 runs on 13 codebasesGraphicle ahead
  • 0.29–0.97×Graphify's peak memory, in all 39 runsGraphicle ahead
  • 99.2% vs 87.8%facts found on Graphify's showcase corpus, with Claude CodeGraphicle ahead
  • 95 vs 94SWE-bench Verified tasks with every changed file found, out of 100Tie

Against Graphify 0.9.91. Speed and memory: Graphicle's 0.1.1 memory engine and a later build, both pre-release, on the same machine with 3 CPUs and 8 workers each; the graphs differ slightly (node counts within 4.7%, edge counts within 2.0%). Agent tests: Claude Code with Opus 5.5 and Graphicle's 0.1.1 agent defaults (pre-release; 0.1.0 on SWE-bench), one run per task.

Which one fits

Which one fits.

Choose Graphify if

  • You want a hosted service with verification, shared graphs and shared memory.
  • You want the original Python project and its larger community.

Choose Graphicle if

  • You want the graph and your project's memory in one local program.
  • You work on large repositories.
  • You want memories to wait for your approval.

Graphicle's code-graph engine is a Rust port of Graphify (Apache-2.0), credited in NOTICE. graphicle setup can switch a repository from Graphify and never deletes graphify-out/.
